About the Role
As an Account Manager specializing in media strategy and outreach within our esteemed Public Relations department, you play a crucial role in shaping and executing comprehensive PR campaigns. Your expertise lies in developing client strategy, fostering media relationships, executing earned media initiatives, engaging influencers, orchestrating activations, and working with team members to delegate responsibilities to Account Coordinators and freelance team members. The following provides insights into key responsibilities and expectations for your role.

Essential Responsibilities

Client Management Excellence:

    • Lead 8 - 10 client accounts.
    • Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring their satisfaction and success and fostering long-term relationships.
    • Develop and execute exceptional presentation skills while leading client and internal-facing presentations.
    • Provide strategic insights and recommendations during client updates.
    • Review, approve, and deliver client reports.

    Media Strategy Mastery:

    • Leverage your seasoned skills to collaboratively develop effective media strategies in conjunction other strategy team members.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends consistently bringing fresh insights to Company strategies.
    • Stay up to date on client competitor brands.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members on media strategy development.

    Earned Media Excellence:

    • Continue to cultivate and enhance relationships with key media contacts to expand each client's 'golden circle'.
    • Serve as a resource for the team on crafting compelling pitches and press releases.
    • Create, update, and maintain pitch schedules and calendars for all clients.
    • Provide feedback and approvals on all pitch and press release materials.
    • Oversee media coverage monitoring, offering strategic adjustments for optimization.
    • Meet earned media placement goals and escalate issues early and often to the leadership team.
    • Write and distribute pitches where needed to maintain ongoing press coverage for all clients.

    Activations Authority:

    • Lead the conceptualization and execution of strategic activations. (Including ideation, strategy discussions, and identifying the need for resources.)
    • Offer guidance on event coordination, ensuring seamless execution.
    • Analyze activation outcomes, contributing to ongoing improvement strategies.

    What You’ll Need to Have:

    • Minimum 3-5 years experience in account /client management
    • Strong writing and communication skills
    • Highly organized and able to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
    • Strategic ability to think beyond the 'now', shift and adapt as needed, proactive planning, and forward-thinking mindset
    • Strong PR/Media contacts
    • Ability to lead and mentor junior employees
    • Ability to track, analyze and leverage KPIs
    • An open-minded team player with a collaborative attitude
    • Self-starter driven to make your work and the work of those around you better and a problem-solving attitude
    • Eagerness and willingness to learn and ability to multitask, manage their own time efficiently, and handle a fast-paced environment
    • Takes ownership of work and mistakes, learns from them, and continues to improve
    • Agency experience a plus, and experience working in the lifestyle, wellness, and with consumer product brands
